ESI Environmental Sensors MP-917 TDR:

This section is mainly of interest for people who use the ESI MP-917 TDR and do not like using the stripper.exe program for importation of waveforms.

Included in this section are instructions on importation of raw log files into Excel 97 and extraction of raw waveforms as well as chart formatting. The macros are only useful for "Raw" traces and cannot be used on "Probe", "Coarse" or other scans (simply put, I use only "Raw" scans for my work).

One hint with regard to working with ViewPoint:
LOG EVERYTHING IN A SEPARATE FIELD/LAB BOOK! Log the start of the logging, all commands input (including such things as gain, coarse offsets, etc.), waeforms collected, comments, end of logging, etc. in the order that they occur. Write down the time and date that you input the commands (see to it that the date/time on the MP-917 and computer are accurate). I have found that these are invaluable when it comes to importing the waveforms afterwards, is it is extremely easy to "get lost" in the log files.
After you have acquired these waveforms you may then use the macros that I have prepared (please note that the macros assume a U0 time of 0.146 ns. Should this differ for your machine then you will need to modify this using the Visual Basic for Applications editor that may be found in Excel 97 in the "Tool/Macro/Visual Basic Editor" menu. I intend to add a dialog box to this macro such that it will allow you to input the U0 factor and maybe make a new version that will process entire logfiles at once).

WinTDR '98- for use with the Tektronix 1502 TDR system.

Available here are explanations on how to collect long waveforms (>251 data points), as well as Excel 97 macros and sample setup files and data.
